Oracle Announces Two New Cloud Regions in Milan and Stockholm

Oracle has announced the opening of two new European Cloud Zones in Milan and Stockholm.

With strong customer demand for Oracle Cloud services, Oracle now has 36 regions around the world with plans to have at least 44 cloud regions by the end of 2022, representing one of the fastest expansions of any major cloud service provider.

Oracle’s first cloud zone has opened in Milan, Italy to support the growing cloud computing requirements of public and private sector organizations. Oracle Cloud Milan Region will provide customers and partners with access to Oracle Cloud services to drive business growth.

Strategically located in the heart of Italy’s commercial and industrial center, the Milan region supports some of Italy’s largest public sector institutions and its most important industries including banking, fashion, food and tourism – as well as one of Europe’s largest startup communities. More than half of Italy’s industrial and commercial activity is located in the Lombardy region, which produces nearly a quarter of Italy’s GDP.

In addition, with its first cloud region in the Nordic countries, Oracle supports the growing demands of cloud computing for public and private sector organizations. Oracle Cloud Stockholm Region will provide customers and partners with access to Oracle Cloud services to drive business growth.

The Stockholm region is strategically located to support the digitization of the Nordic region, consistently ranked among the most digitally advanced regions in the world. Most recently, Denmark, Sweden and Finland topped the European Union’s 2021 Digital Economy and Society Index (DESI), which tracks progress in EU member states in digital competitiveness in the areas of human capital, broadband connectivity and integration of digital technologies by business and public services. digital.
