Welcome to 2022! Even in normal times, the New Year is a time to look back and look forward. And even more after the last couple of years, we know that many people are reevaluating their lives and priorities and are considering a job transfer. If this is you, we want to tell you that Docker is growing fast, and invite you to take a look at our careers page where we have a lot of open jobs.

All of our positions are far away. Before the pandemic, we had a mix of employees working in the office and remotely, but when we were all forced to work from home, we found it worked really well for us, and we’re sticking with it. Where do we recruit?. Although we are quite far away, there are only certain countries where we can hire at the moment, based on time zones that are compatible with our existing teams, and where we are familiar with local labor law. We plan to expand the list in the future, but for now we are only looking for people in these 15 countries: Argentina, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, France, Germany, Mexico, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Sweden, UK and USA.

What jobs are we hiring for?. Like I said, we’re growing fast, and all of our divisions are looking for people. We are now looking for

  • Software developers. We cover a huge range of software in Docker, with everything from the operating system, through backend applications, to the full stack and user interface; We write CLI applications, desktop and network applications; Use Linux, Windows, and Mac.
  • Product Managers And Product designers. We believe in building the tools that users want, and making them easy to use. To achieve this, each Scrum team has its own product manager and product designer.
  • Support Engineers And Supporting Engineers
  • Data Engineers
  • Sales and marketing. We have a variety of sales positions from Business Development Representatives to Sales Development Manager and Technical Product Marketing Manager.
  • Human Resources and Finance. These teams support Docker’s growth and there are a variety of roles from HR coordinator to chief revenue accountant and more.

What do we offer. We want Docker to be a great place to work, and a place people will want to stay for many years. Apart from the competitive salary, here are some of the advantages we offer. (Benefits are generally the same in each of our countries, but differ slightly due to local laws.)

To this end, we organize virtual and in-person events for teams, for cities or countries, and for the entire company.
  • Home office setup: We want you to be comfortable while you work. If you don’t already have a desk, office chair, suitable headset, or similar things, we’ll provide it for you.
  • Work from home allowance equal to $100 after tax per month, to cover the cost of a home internet connection. If you use your internet connection for work, we think we have to pay for it.
  • A vacation plan encourages you to take time off. We don’t believe in burning people: We want employees to be able to take time off to do the things they enjoy and come back refreshed.
  • Whale Days: A company-wide holiday each month. To further improve work-life balance, as a company we close our doors for one day each month. This is in addition to your regular leave allowance. Best thing: Unlike regular holidays, you don’t have as many emails and Slacks the next day, because others took the day off too!
